Transformed Board Game Table

Back when I worked for a theatre/television production house I had a hand in building the 2016 Commission on Presidential Debates scenery as well as the moderator desks. After the debates were through everything came back to the shop to be tossed out and will be built new the next time around. I was able to take the moderator desk from the vice presidential debate and turn it into my first board game table prototype. I cut the base into four sections to allow for seating up to 8 people, laminated it a different color, made the middle of the top a turn table, and added cup holders. I built and modified this table in 2016 and it is still being used today by the couple I gave it to.

Bonus item: I tried out another idea I had. I made a tabletop RPG grid that can change colors with built in LEDs wirelessly controlled by a remote to set the mood of the scene. The white edge can be written on with dry erase markers along with the clear grid. Custom maps can be placed underneath for more creativity.
